Board Chair Lindsey Horvath Opposes Motion Supporting the City of Grants Pass Case 1024 888 Supervisor Lindsey P. Horvath

BOARD CHAIR LINDSEY HORVATH OPPOSES MOTION SUPPORTING THE CITY OF GRANTS PASS CASE

February 6, 2024

Los Angeles, CA –  At today’s Board of Supervisors meeting, Lindsey P. Horvath, Chair of the Board of Supervisors, opposed a motion calling for Los Angeles County to join an Amicus Brief regarding Johnson vs. City of Grants Pass.

Chair Horvath shared:

“The Grants Pass case would further enable cities to push people from community to community, without a commitment to housing or services. Relying on this case is not a solution to homelessness. The only meaningful way to end the homelessness crisis we are seeing nationwide is to invest in safe, affordable housing options that include supportive services for our most vulnerable community members.”

The motion passed in a 3-2 vote with Supervisor Hilda L. Solis also opposing the motion.
