SUPERVISOR HORVATH HOLDS COMMUNITY RESILIENCY AND PREPAREDNESS EVENT ON OCTOBER 26

October 19, 2023

Los Angeles, CA – Santa Monica Mountain communities are invited to join Supervisor Lindsey P. Horvath, Los Angeles County departments, and community organizations for a community resiliency and preparedness event in Agoura Hills on Thursday, October 26. The evening will prepare community members for floods, fires, earthquakes, and other disasters.

WHEN: Thursday, October 26, 6 – 8 p.m.

WHERE: Lindero Canyon Middle School, 5844 Larboard Lane, Agoura Hills, CA 91301

“LA County must prepare for the next possible disaster, as we see increasing threat of wildfires, floods, and other emergencies. I’d like to invite all of our community members, especially those in our disaster-prone areas of the Third District, to join our team for this important evening,” said Supervisor Lindsey P. Horvath. “It takes all of us to respond to disasters effectively and to help our entire community be educated, prepared, and connected to one another.”

The evening will feature three panel discussions on fire, earthquake, and flood preparedness from Los Angeles County Fire, the Sheriff’s Department, the Office of Emergency Management, Public Health, the Office of Sustainability, the National Weather Service, and others. Information shared builds on lessons learned from the Woolsey Fire and the recent tropical storm event. Participating partners will provide tangible resources and best practices for emergency preparedness.

Registration is encouraged for this no-cost event through Eventbrite.
