My heart is broken by the loss of our beloved US Senator, Dianne Feinstein. She meant the world to me as a glass-ceiling-shattering, pioneering woman in politics – tenacious and unafraid to keep going, relentlessly fighting for equality and human rights.

She was many firsts – first woman mayor of San Francisco, first woman nominated to run for CA governor by a major party, and first woman to serve CA in the Senate. Her work meaningfully changed the lives of Californians – from veterans to our LGBTQ+ community.

Her leadership has shaped my life and public service. Her impact is profound and will be for generations. I miss you, Dianne.
