Justin serves as Policy Deputy for Supervisor Lindsey P. Horvath, where he oversees
Metro/Transportation, Legislative Affairs and the Registrar Recorder. Justin was previously the legislative director for two Los Angeles City Councilmembers, where he advised on a variety of transportation, housing, economic and workforce development, and campaign finance / ethics related initiatives.

Justin earned his Bachelors degree in political science from San Diego State University, his Masters in International Studies from the School of Government and International Affairs, Durham University, UK, and is currently completing his PhD in International Political Economy from the same. Justin was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley and currently lives in Van Nuys with his “rock”, Aja Orenstein, and his “roll”, Jackson Orenstein. When not juggling professional and academic responsibilities, Justin and Aja are likely picking up the pieces from their toddler tornado.
