CHAIR HORVATH SIGNS EMERGENCY PROCLAMATION FOR THE BRIDGE FIRE

Los Angeles, CALast night, Lindsey P. Horvath, Chair of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, signed a proclamation declaring a local emergency for the Bridge Fire. The declaration of a local emergency allows Los Angeles County to expedite all necessary resources to fight the Bridge Fire in the Angeles National Forest, impacting the Fifth District communities of Wrightwood and Mt. Baldy.

“Los Angeles County stands ready to ensure we take every step necessary to protect our County communities as the brave members of the LA County Fire Department and partner agencies fight this wildfire,” said Chair Lindsey P. Horvath. “Our Emergency Operations Center is activated and coordinating with LA County Fire, our Sheriff’s Department, and CalFire. To our communities impacted by the Bridge Fire: Please heed the advice of emergency personnel who are working hard to protect you and your neighbors. My endless gratitude to our first responders who are giving their all to fight and contain the Bridge Fire.”

The Los Angeles County portion of the Bridge Fire is in the Fifth District, led by Supervisor Kathryn Barger.

“Our County is committed to unlocking and accessing every available resource to fight this dynamic and fast moving fire,” said Supervisor Kathryn Barger. “I stand ready to support both our impacted communities and the brave first responders who are tirelessly working to keep them and their properties safe.”

The fire is impacting San Bernardino County, which has also proclaimed a local emergency to expedite all necessary resources. Los Angeles County, San Bernardino County, and Angeles National Forest are in Unified Command to ensure coordination across jurisdictions, and with state partners, to fight and contain the fire.
