Implementing a more representative, accountable, and transparent LA County

In 2024, voters approved Measure G—delivering long-overdue governance reform to Los Angeles County for the first time in over a century. Championed by Supervisor Lindsey Horvath, Measure G is now being implemented to make the County more representative, accountable, and transparent.

An independent Ethics Commission and Office of Ethics Compliance will be established to enforce ethical standards and ensure transparency.

LA County will hold its first-ever election for a County Executive—providing dedicated, centralized leadership and accountability.

Following the 2030 redistricting process, elections will expand the Board of Supervisors from five to nine seats—bringing greater representation to all corners of LA County.

A Governance Reform Task Force (GRTF) is actively guiding this process, engaging the public, setting timelines, and shaping implementation.
