CHAIR HORVATH TO AGENDIZE FAILED 41.18 POLICY AT NEXT LAHSA COMMISSION MEETING
March 4, 2024
Los Angeles, CA – Lindsey P. Horvath, Chair of the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) and the Board of Supervisors, shared a statement today announcing her plan to agendize the City of Los Angeles Municipal Code Section 41.18 Effectiveness Report at the next LAHSA Commission meeting.
“The data is clear: 41.18 is a failed policy that has only made the homelessness crisis worse.
If we truly want a homeless services system that delivers results, we have to work together and give up this tired game of finger pointing.
LAHSA is not somebody else, it is us: City and County of Los Angeles. This is why I appointed myself to the commission where I am now chair, and why I’ll be bringing this to our next meeting for a public discussion where it belongs. A better homeless services system requires transparency and accountability.”
LAHSA’s report to the City of Los Angeles’ Chief Legislative Analyst’s Office on 41.18 is available here.
