CHAIR HORVATH TO AGENDIZE FAILED 41.18 POLICY AT NEXT LAHSA COMMISSION MEETING

March 4, 2024

Los Angeles, CALindsey P. Horvath, Chair of the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) and the Board of Supervisors, shared a statement today announcing her plan to agendize the City of Los Angeles Municipal Code Section 41.18 Effectiveness Report at the next LAHSA Commission meeting.

“The data is clear: 41.18 is a failed policy that has only made the homelessness crisis worse.

If we truly want a homeless services system that delivers results, we have to work together and give up this tired game of finger pointing.

LAHSA is not somebody else, it is us: City and County of Los Angeles. This is why I appointed myself to the commission where I am now chair, and why I’ll be bringing this to our next meeting for a public discussion where it belongs. A better homeless services system requires transparency and accountability.”

LAHSA’s report to the City of Los Angeles’ Chief Legislative Analyst’s Office on 41.18 is available here.
