CHAIR HORVATH MEETS WITH FEDERAL LEADERS ON LA COUNTY PRIORITIES

April 15, 2024

Los Angeles, CALindsey P. Horvath, Chair of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, spent three days in our nation’s capital last week discussing the resources and partnership needed to address our urgent priorities of homelessness, behavioral health, climate change, and infrastructure.

The Chair was joined by her Board colleagues and directors from the departments of Public Works, Mental Health, Consumer and Business Affairs, the Development Authority, and Chief Sustainability Office.

“It was an invigorating three days meeting with White House leaders and our Senate and Congressional partners to dig in on the most consequential issues facing Los Angeles County communities,” said Board Chair Lindsey P. Horvath. “There’s a shared urgency to house and care for our unhoused community members, and to expand our behavioral health system. We discussed how to adapt to our ever-changing climate through clean energy, mass transit, and water infrastructure. We also talked about addressing antisemitism, and opportunities to care for veterans and children in foster care through a stronger prevention system. We have federal leaders who understand our priorities and how critical their support will be to a strong and resilient Los Angeles County for all.”
