May 3, 2024
Los Angeles, CA – Lindsey P. Horvath, Chair of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, shares the following gratitude for Governor Gavin Newsom’s emergency proclamation to support the swift reopening of Topanga Canyon Boulevard.
“I am enormously grateful for Governor Newsom’s leadership in bringing significant resources to bear for recovery from the impacts of the winter storms. His request for federal funding is exactly what is needed. The State and Los Angeles County are unified in our focus to urgently reopen Topanga Canyon Boulevard.”
“Last week, I formed a unified command group to expedite reopening with our Department of Public Works and Caltrans leading, with support from our Office of Emergency Management, the LA County Sheriff’s Department, and LA County Fire. Close coordination, coupled with this investment, will get the job done.”
The State’s declared state of emergency follows Chair Horvath’s emergency proclamation for the February storms, which expedites Los Angeles County’s response to reopening Topanga.
