SUPERVISOR LINDSEY P. HORVATH RELEASES STATEMENT ON COUNTY GOVERNANCE REFORM

Los Angeles, CA – Today, Supervisor Lindsey P. Horvath released the following statement in regards to her and Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell’s motion to reform LA County government, including potential expansion of the Board of Supervisors.

“While today’s motion to explore ways to improve our County government – to be more efficient, transparent, accessible and responsive to our constituents – was not successful, I am committed to continuing this effort because Angelenos desire to have more diverse representation; more equitable leadership; and a more accessible and efficient County.

Our fight to expand the Board of Supervisors; ensure independent redistricting; and reform campaign finance laws to better reflect the will of the people in LA County continues. Fundamentally re-examining the way the County Board and related departments function will be beneficial as we move forward together in tackling the challenges we face.”
