Vanessa Carranza serves as a Community Affairs Associate in the office of Supervisor Lindsey Horvath, providing administrative support to the Director and Deputy Director of Community Affairs, to ensure effective coordination and communication across the team. A proud first-generation college graduate, Vanessa earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from California State University, Northridge, and went on to receive a Master’s in Public Adminstration and a certificate in Public Policy from the University of Southern California.  

Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, Vanessa is deeply committed to serving the community that shaped her. She takes great pride in supporting staff-led events in the Third District that enhance access to services and critical resources. Outside of her professional responsibilities, Vanessa enjoys painting, horseback riding, and spending quality time with friends, family and her partner, Justin.
