MEET LIZZIE SHUSTER
Senior Youth & Community Wellbeing Deputy

Lizzie Shuster serves as Supervisor Horvath’s Senior Youth and Community Well-Being Welfare Deputy where her portfolio includes the Department of Children and Family Services, Department of Public Social Services, First 5 LA, Early Childhood, Education, Child Support Services, Aging & Disabilities Department, equity policies, food security, poverty alleviation, and the Youth Commission. Prior to joining Supervisor Horvath’s team, she served as Associate Director for the LA Center for Strategic Partnerships, leading the Center’s Youth Development and Empowerment work and working with partners to identify, build, and advance joint initiatives to better serve youth and families throughout Los Angeles County.
Lizzie has both private sector and political experience, formerly serving in the Office of Scheduling and Advance for President Barack Obama and working at Facing History and Ourselves, a major educational nonprofit organization. She is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and Bates College. She is a proud resident of the Third District where she lives with her husband and two young children.
