SUP. HORVATH HONORS CHIQUIS DURING WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH
March 24th, 2026
LOS ANGELES, CA – Today, Los Angeles County Supervisor Lindsey P. Horvath recognized Chiquis during Women’s History Month for her impact as an artist, entrepreneur, and advocate, and for her commitment to uplifting women and communities across Los Angeles County.
Through her work, Chiquis has used her platform to share her story with authenticity and resilience, helping to break barriers in the entertainment industry while creating space for conversations around identity, healing, and empowerment. Her leadership continues to inspire women to embrace their voices and lead with confidence.
“This Women’s History Month, I am proud to honor Chiquis. As a proud Latina from our Third District, she has consistently shown up for our community—supporting immigrant families, helping those in need, and standing with wildfire-impacted communities,” said Supervisor Lindsey P. Horvath. “Through her voice and platform, she uplifts women, inspires confidence, and reminds us all what leadership in action looks like. May her light continue to shine on generations to come.”
“Thank you Lindsey for recognizing me, it’s such an honor to be recognized in this way. I will continue to help my community, to help with women, to empower them in anything that I do. I wanted to tell you if anyone had said no and told me that you can, I am here to tell you that it is absolutely possible,” said Chiquis.
A special reception honoring Chiquis was held before the Board of Supervisors meeting and was attended by women leaders across the Third District and Los Angeles County. Joined by Supervisor Horvath were Supervisor Hilda L. Solis, LA County Assessor Jeff Prang, Burbank Councilmember Nikki Perez, Glendale Councilmember Elen Asatryan, Glendora Councilmember Karen Davis, Malibu Councilmember Marianna Riggins, San Fernando Councilmember Maria Solorio and Walnut Councilmember Kaylee May Law.
